Japanese Language and Japanese Studies Courses

The Center offers the following Japanese Language and Japanese Studies courses to meet the needs of International Students.

Japanese Language Courses
The Japanese language Courses range from level 1 for beginners to level 6 for advanced learners, offering about 25 units which cover grammar, conversation, reading and writing skills. Advanced courses cater for those who need to improve skills such as oral presentation and academic writing; classes are usually small and lecturers are attentive to student needs and range of language acquisition abilities.
Students who already have some knowledge of Japanese and who wish to enroll in Japanese language courses, it is a requirement that a Placement Test be taken before the course commences.
All Japanese language courses are open to all international students at Oita University.

Japanese Studies Courses
There is an introductory course on Japan for students who have never lived in Japan. It provides them with basic information on Japanese history, culture and society. There is also a course covering the modalities of intercultural understanding.
